Stephen Graham (born 3 August 1973) is an English actor and film producer. He began his career in 1990, with notable early roles in Snatch (2000) and Gangs of New York (2002), before his breakthrough as Andrew "Combo" Gascoigne in This Is England (2006). On television, Graham reprised his role as Combo in This Is England '86, This Is England '88, and This Is England '90. He also starred in the drama Little Boy Blue, the fifth series of Line of Duty, the HBO series Boardwalk Empire, the BBC drama Time, and the sixth series of Peaky Blinders. He created, co-wrote, and executive-produced the miniseries Adolescence (2025) on Netflix, in which he also appeared, and won all three nominations at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards for it. Graham's film appearances include Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017), The Irishman (2019), Boiling Point (2021) and its sequel series of the same name (2023), and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) and its sequel Venom: The Last Dance (2024). He has received nominations for seven British Academy Television Awards and one British Academy Film Award. He was appointed OBE in 2023. Stephen Graham (* 3. August 1973 in Kirkby, Merseyside, Vereinigtes Königreich) ist ein britischer Schauspieler. Zu Beginn seiner Filmkarriere spielte Graham kleinere Rollen in verschiedenen Fernsehfilmen und englischen Fernsehserien, unter anderem in der von der BBC produzierten Seifenoper Coronation Street. Als Bühnenschauspieler stand er in den Theatern Bush, dem Everyman Liverpool und dem Bristol Old Vic auf der Bühne. Sein Durchbruch gelang ihm im Jahre 2000 als Tommy, einem Amateur-Box-Promoter an der Seite Jason Stathams in Guy Ritchies Snatch – Schweine und Diamanten. Zu dieser Rolle kam Graham durch Zufall, denn eigentlich war er nur als Begleitung eines Bekannten zum Casting gekommen. Für die Rolle in Snatch legte Graham seinen Liverpooler Akzent (Scouse) ab und spielte die Rolle mit Londoner Cockney-Dialekt. Im Jahre 2001 verkörperte er Sgt. Myron Ranney in der zehnteiligen Miniserie Band of Brothers – Wir waren wie Brüder, danach war er neben Leonardo DiCaprio und Daniel Day-Lewis in Martin Scorseses Gangs of New York zu sehen. Seine Rolle als Skinhead Combo in Shane Meadows' This Is England brachte ihm eine Nominierung als bester Nebendarsteller bei den British Independent Film Awards 2006 ein. Im selben Jahr bekam Graham eine Rolle in der BBC-Serie The Innocence Project, die nach nur acht Folgen wegen zu schlechter Einschaltquoten eingestellt wurde. Er ist auch in Madonnas Regiedebüt Filth and Wisdom zu sehen, der auf der Berlinale 2008 Premiere feierte. 2009 spielte er an der Seite von Johnny Depp und den Oscar-Gewinnern Christian Bale und Marion Cotillard in Michael Manns Public Enemies die Rolle des amerikanischen Gangsters und Bankräubers Babyface Nelson. Außerdem verkörperte Stephen Graham 2009 im Film The Damned United – Der ewige Gegner Billy Bremner, den ehemaligen Fußballspieler und Trainer von Leeds United. Für diese Rolle trug er eine rothaarige Perücke.
