Adrien Brody ist der Sohn eines Lehrers und einer ungarischen Photojournalistin und wuchs in Queens auf. Er besuchte im Alter von 12 Jahren die American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Seinen Abschluss machte Adrien Brody an der High School for the Performing Arts. Mit seiner Mitwirkung in Spike Lees Summer of Sam oder Terrence Malick’s Der schmale Grat (1998) bekam Adrien Brody bereits großes Lob, doch erst als ihn Roman Polański 2002 für die Titelrolle seines Holocaust-Dramas Der Pianist besetzte, konnte er seinen großen Durchbruch feiern: Für seine Darstellung des polnischen Juden Wladyslaw Szpilman erhielt Adrien Brody 2003 den Oscar als bester Hauptdarsteller. Nach Der Pianist war Adrien Brody u.a. zu sehen in M. Adrien Nicholas Brody, né le 14 avril 1973, est un acteur et producteur américain. Il s'est fait connaître et a reçu des éloges internationaux pour son rôle de Władysław Szpilman dans "Le pianiste" (2002) de Roman Polanski. Ce rôle lui a valu l'Oscar du meilleur acteur à seulement 29 ans, faisant de lui le plus jeune acteur à remporter cette distinction dans cette catégorie. Il est également le deuxième acteur américain, après Christopher Lambert, à avoir reçu le César du meilleur acteur.
