Clayton Sherwood travaille à Bangkok au sein d'une grande firme pharmaceutique. Responsable des ventes pour l'Asie du Sud-Est, il souhaite revenir définitivement aux Etats-Unis. Au cours d'une soirée, il fait pression sur un collègue et ancien compagnon de promotion, Eric Dunlow : assistant du PDG, celui-ci pourrait l'aider à obtenir sa mutation.
